No Limits -The Seventh Day of LCC

For this is what the Lord has commanded us: “I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.” – Acts 13:47

In my senior year of college I took a semester off and returned to the small town in Wisconsin where my family lived. Some weekends I would take the three hour drive back to school in the Chicago area to visit friends. One Friday I invited a couple of buddies from work to join me, that night, on my trip. They were shocked at the thought of taking a trip to Chicago. It was outside their experience to just get in a car and drive to someplace that seemed so far away. It wasn’t a daunting trip in reality, just in their minds.

God calls us to be a light so that we…’may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’ In order for this to happen it means, sometimes, we go to places that have, perhaps, been unthinkable. To this day I still meet people who put limits on where they can go or what they can do. But very often these limits are self-imposed. We blame finances or work schedules or lack of experience or…

Here’s the truth: If God calls you to go (and he calls all of us to go somewhere) he also provides the way. With God there are no limits. As we close out the year past and stand at the edge of the year ahead are you willing to heed God’s call? Will you let him remove your limits and go where he sends you? Let yourself go into the arms of a God for whom there are no limits and see where he takes you.

Prayer
Lord, remove the limits I place on what I will do and where I will go in response to your call. In the year ahead stretch and challenge me to follow wherever you lead. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
