Hospitality

Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.
1Peter 4:9

Hospitality comes from a grateful heart. It never comes from a sense of obligation, for that would lead to complaint, or from a sense of duty, for that would lead to pride. True hospitality comes from a heart that is grateful that the King of kings swung open the gates of heaven and declared you a child of God. Because of His Grace, God has attended to your every need. He initiated His daily acts of loving kindness without you even asking. It’s this divine hospitality that enables and encourages us to share hospitality with others.

Hospitality is not something we show just to visitors or extended family at special holidays. Hospitality helps make our homes and churches a place of refuge and rest. The warmth of affirming words and tender care welcomes hurting, lonely and tired individuals. Preserving harmony with kindness and selfless giving draws us together as we safely reflections upon our day and the spiritual journey we are on. As reflection takes place we are allowed to, “Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn” (Romans 12:15). This keeps us connected in the good things as well as the painful things.

Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, I praise You for the Grace and Mercy that You pour out upon me daily. I also thank You for those who You have placed into my life who love and encourage me daily. Empower me by Your Holy Spirit to be more patient, compassionate and loving toward others. I pray this in Jesus’ Name. Amen

    Dear Mr. Imlah,

Reading the devotions today gave me a good feeling. I am so thankful that GOD works in my heart. Although I am back from the assignment given to me, I recognize that there is still much work to be done. I ask for your continued prayers for my family and now especially for my brother. Thank you so kindly for everything. Have a blessed day Mr. Imlah.
