Look Before You Leap

“For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11

Maybe you’ve heard this old saying: “Look before you leap.” Well, that saying may be old, but it still applies to you. Before you jump into something, you should look ahead and plan ahead. Otherwise, you might soon be sorry you jumped!

When you acquire the habit of planning ahead, you’ll usually make better choices. So when it comes to the important things in life, seek the Lord’s guidance, make a plan and stick to it. When you do, you’ll think about the consequences of your actions before you do something silly… or dangerous… or both.

Remember, the best time to decide how you’re going to behave is before you find yourself in a difficult (or tempting) situation. So pray ahead, think ahead, plan ahead, and follow God’s plan.

Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, forgive me for the times that I have not looked before I leaped. Forgive me for the times I thought I knew better and did my own thing. Help me to seek Your guidance in the decisions that I make every day. May I honor You in all that I do and help others to know You. I pray this in Jesus’ Name. Amen
