Jesus Understands - Part 2

Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.
Hebrews 2:18

Are you tired of all the demands? Jesus understands: ‘Great crowds came, the lame, blind, crippled, those who could not speak, and He healed them’ (Matthew 15:30). But the other side of the equation is: ‘‘while it was still dark, Jesus went to a lonely place, where He prayed’ (Mark 1:35). Jesus understood this timeless principle: you can only make withdrawals as long as you keep making deposits. Are you disappointed in people? Jesus understands. Remember, Judas sold Him out then sealed the deal with a kiss! Even in His darkest hour, Gethsemane, His own disciples could not stay awake with Him for one hour. (See Matthew 26:40). Have you been unfairly blamed? Jesus understands. They accused Him of being a ‘‘lush, a friend of the riffraff’’ (Matthew 11:19). Up until the time of His death they were still trying ‘‘to find something false, so they could kill Him’ (Matthew 26:59). And Jesus said: ‘‘The servant is not greater than his lord’ (John 15:20). When you decide to follow Jesus, you are signing up for a life of blessing and adversity, they go together! So why did Jesus go through these things? Listen: ‘Since He Himself has gone through suffering, He is able to help us...’ He walked the path you are on today so that you could go to Him, knowing He understands and ‘‘is able to help...’ Not only is He able, He is willing. Talk to Him!

Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you for being with me and standing by me through all the good and the bad. In Your Precious Name, Amen
