Spend More Time With God!
...but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.
Isaiah 40:31
Most folks today seem to have a mobile phone growing out of their ear. They have learned to drive in the fast lane, listen to music, talk on the telephone and do business - all at the same time. Nobody wants to wait! Yet, when it comes to our spiritual lives, waiting quietly in God's presence brings rewards that nothing else will. Here are a few of them:
1) Strength. Listen: 'Those who [spend time with] God get fresh strength. They... soar like eagles, they run and don't get tired; they walk and don't lag behind' (Isaiah 40:31). Do you feel drained today? 'Wait on the Lord... And He shall strengthen your heart...' (Psalm 27: 14).
2) Vindication. Are you upset because you have been misunderstood? Or because your critics seem to be prospering? Listen: 'Do not fret...evildoers shall be cut off; But those who wait on the Lord...shall inherit the earth' (Psalm 37:8-9). Cheer up, the last chapter has not been written. When it is, we win!
3) Deliverance. Do you feel trapped by circumstances? Listen: 'I waited for God...He lifted me out of the ditch...' (Psalm 40:1-2). Relax. Start trusting God more. He will bring you through!
4) Growth. Do you long to become more mature? Listen: 'Let...[patience] do its... work' (James1:4). Patience really works! It eliminates worry because God is bigger than your problem. It eliminates works because your job is to simply obey and leave the rest in God's hands. It eliminates wanting because your wants become less important than His will. So start spending more time with God!
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I make time for things that are important – and you are the most important Person in my life. Help me reflect that with the time I spend with you! In Your Precious Name, Amen

Dear Mr. Hetzner,
Thank you for the devotion today. It was quite and awakening for me. I must agree, sometimes things can be a little overwhelming for me because I am misunderstood, but GOD always has a way of bringing me around and showing me how to deal with different situations. HE speaks to my spirit in a quiet way " be still and be quiet" and I do, and HE does HIS work. I love the LORD. HE really does work in my life and for those who believe and are obedient to HIS word. I am thankful and blessed from HIS ministry of devotions. Thank you for allowing GOD'S will to flow. Have a blessed day Mr. Hetzner.
