Use your faith!

The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace;
Romans 8:6

Some of us are so intent on proving God's existence that we miss the whole concept of faith. God cannot be proven or explained. In the final analysis, He is known only by faith and faith defies understanding. If salvation was based on IQ, most of us would not stand a chance. But God designed it so that, '...the most stupid cannot miss the way' (Isaiah 35:8), and children can '...enter the kingdom of heaven' (Matthew. 18:3).

Our hardest struggles usually come from wanting explanations and proof. That is why Paul says, 'To be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life.' God is looking for people who simply take Him at His Word. When He finds them, He uses them greatly and rewards them richly.

In the Old Testament He found a man named Abraham and called him His friend (2 Chronicles 20:7). Was that because Abraham was perfect? Hardly; not once, but twice he lied, saying his wife was his sister. And when God told him to leave his relatives behind, he decided to bring along his nephew and father-in-law! But one thing Abraham had going for him was, '...God considered him righteous on account of his faith' (Genesis 15:6). Faith gives you a credit line with God!

Hebrews, Chapter 11, chronicles a list of people who received blessings through faith. Just like money in the natural world, faith is the exchange that is used in God's kingdom. It defies reason, transcends feeling, and gets results every time. So, today start using your faith!

Prayer
Heavenly Father, it is only by your merit and your mercy that I am anything. Thank you for faith, now help me use it more consistently with everything that I face today. In Your Precious Name, Amen
