Handling Life's Little Annoyances

that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.
Ephesians 1:8

After 9/11 some amazing stories began to surface about the people who escaped tragedy through 'coincidences' like: the accountant who was late for work because his son started kindergarten that morning. Or the secretary who survived because it was her turn to stop and buy the doughnuts. Or the salesman who wore new shoes to work, developed a blister and stopped to get plasters.

So when Paul says, "He...knows what is best for us at all times", does that mean bad things will never happen to you? No. Jesus said, "In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world" (John 16:33). Author Thelma Wells says, "Every trial, tribulation, question mark, perplexity, decision, burden, disappointment, heartache, calamity, tragedy, turmoil, loss, danger, exclusion, accusation, threat, or act of the devil, is within the scope of God's knowledge. He is Sovereign, He knows the outcome; He has already worked it out. His ministering angels protect us. His precious blood covers us. His grace and mercy go before us." Wow! What more do you need? The Bible says: "...trust the Lord...let him lead you, and he will clear the road..." (Proverbs 3:5-6).

'Coincidences' are what happen when God decides to remain anonymous! So whenever you are stuck in traffic, or miss the bus, or have to run back to answer the phone, you can choose to see those things as annoyances, or you can decide you are exactly where God wants you to be at that very moment.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, forgive me when I think I am in control of my time more than I actually am! Help me to trust you more in the unexpected things that happen! In Jesus' Name, Amen
