Follow His Lead

“Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.”
Daniel 12:3

The old saying is familiar and true: imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. As believers, we are called to imitate, as best we can with the help of the Holy Spirit, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The task of imitating Christ is often difficult and sometimes impossible, but as His followers, we must continue to be faithful and obedient.

Our world needs leaders who willingly honor Christ with their words and their actions, but not necessarily in that order. If you seek to be such a leader, then you must begin by allowing God to mold you into a worthy example to your family, to your friends, to your church and to your community. After all, your words of instruction will never ring true unless you yourself are willing to follow them.

Following His lead is an exercise in service: service to God in heaven and service to His children here on earth. Christ willingly became a servant to His followers, and you must seek to do the same for yours.

Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, when I find myself in a position of leadership, let me follow Your teachings and obey Your commandments. Through the power of Your Holy Spirit, bless me with integrity and wisdom and make me a worthy example to those whom I serve. Help me also to turn to You for guidance and for strength in all that I say and do. I pray this in Jesus’ Name. Amen
