Faith In Action

Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed.
1 Peter 1:13

Our Faith must be demonstrated, not only by our words but, more importantly, by our actions. As Followers of Jesus Christ, we must do our best, with the help of the Holy Spirit, to make sure that our actions are accurate reflections of our beliefs. In short, we should be practical believers, quick to act whenever we see an opportunity to serve God.

We may proclaim our beliefs to our hearts' content, but our proclamations will mean nothing – to others or to ourselves – unless we accompany our words with the deeds that match. The message that we live is far more compelling than the ones we speak. So remember this: whether you like it or not, your life is an accurate reflection of your creed (your faith statement). If this fact gives you cause for concern, don't bother talking about the changes that you intend to make – make them! And then, when your good deeds speak for themselves – as they most certainly will – don't interrupt.

Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, my desire is to please You and only You. Help me to know Your will and to be obedient to it today. Empower me to live my faith daily and be self-controlled. Today, I praise and thank You for Your gifts, for Your love, and for Your Son. I pray this in Jesus' Name. Amen
