Busy?
….Stand thou still a while, that I may show thee the word of God.
1 Samuel 9:27
The world mentality says, ‘Rev that engine up to 10,000 rpm when you get up in the morning and keep it there until you collapse in the sack at night.’ Getting caught up in that intense pace can be exciting and rewarding, but it leaves little time for God. And you do not have to be in business. Look at women with small children - every minute consumed by little creatures that pull at you, color on your walls and track mud on your floor, and then have the nerve to wake you in the middle of the night. And the pace of single working parents is often double that as they go home to face even more demands, with no time out. And what is the downside to all this? Our walk with Jesus slows to a crawl or stops altogether. If that is happening to you, you need to say, ‘Time out! I am not going through the motions anymore. I refuse to put my spiritual life on autopilot, mouthing meaningless prayers and leafing through a Bible I neither read nor live by. I am going to pay whatever price it takes to walk with God.’ That means prioritizing your time, saying no to certain things, running the risk of displeasing people. But it is the only way you will be at peace with God and be in a position to hear what He is saying to you. Nobody ever said the Christian walk is easy, but is anything in the world of greater or more lasting importance? This is how you can find Peace in a chaotic world gone mad!
Prayer
Heavenly Father, Slow me down so I have time with you and can see your face more clearly. In Jesus’ Name Amen

God is so amazing!
Yesterday I commented to a friend about my life being so busy, hectic, and today you send this devotion. God's timing is so perfect.
Also, today my small group ladies Bible study is meeting for the first time since last fall. I hope it is alright if I share this devotion with them. I think it timely.
I thank God for you and all the work you and your staff do. God bless you all.
Love and peace, Barbara
