Ask The Lord About It!

The babies jostled each other within her, and she said, "Why is this happening to me?" So she went to inquire of the LORD.
Genesis 25:22

Throughout her pregnancy, Rebekah sensed the conflict that already existed between the twin boys she was carrying. They even competed for attention and favor in uterus! Sometimes you’ll experience that same tension when you’re trying to birth your dreams. They can appear to be in conflict with each other, with one seeming to cancel out another. But immediately when this kind of inner conflict arose, the Bible says Rebekah "asked the Lord about it" (Genesis 25:22). That’s always a wise move! Rebekah said, "If all is well, why am I like this?" Can’t you relate? How many times have you experienced fear or apprehension in the middle of your success and wondered, "What’s wrong with me? Things are going well, so why am I so anxious?" You’ve finally achieved your business goals and your family is starting to come together after a long hard struggle. But now instead of feeling happy, you’re disappointed that you’re not experiencing the joy and fulfillment you expected; you’re actually worrying about how your choices will impact your future. At times like this, bring your turmoil to the Lord. Ask Him for help with the inner conflict you’re experiencing; to give you peace concerning the dream within you. Remember - no matter what you achieve, its ability to satisfy you is limited. No amount of success can ever take the place of God. So learn to draw your strength and fulfillment from Him, instead of relying on your own accomplishments.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, help me with inner struggles that tend to war inside me. Help me sort them out so I can have the joy in you that I so desire. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
