Transformed

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Romans 12:2

Character is doing what’s right, no matter what. As believers, we sometimes cave under pressure thinking about the outcome. Your kids or spouse might get angery. It wouldn’t look good to the boss. Your coworkers or classmates might talk about you.

The Bible offers advice for growing in this area of life. We must live under the authority of God’s Word and let His power come alive in our hearts. In Romans 12:2 Paul uses the word transformed. The word transform indicates that something must take place inside of us; a change in the focus of our heart and a deeper desire for obedience.

When true transformation happens, you’re different! You no longer look, think, or walk the same way. God doesn’t want you to remain the same. He longs to take you on a journey of change that remolds your character, thoughts, and decisions. Pray today that your character will be immersed in the power of God’s Word and that it would be apparent in the way you live.

Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, empower me by the power of Your Holy Spirit to resist the pull to conform to the patterns of this world. I battle between the desires of my flesh and the desires of my heart. Help me to seek Your will and to be faithful, obedient and available to You and Your call in my life. I pray this in Jesus’ Name. Amen
