Are You Listening?

“Let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance.”
Proverbs 1:5

Let’s face the facts... You are a busy person. And perhaps, because of your demanding schedule, you’ve neglected to pay sufficient attention to a particularly important part of your life: the spiritual part. If so, today is the day to change, and one way to make that change is simply to spend a little more time talking with God.

God is trying to get His message through to you. Are you listening?

Perhaps, on occasion, you may find yourself overwhelmed by the pressures of everyday life. Perhaps you may forget to slow yourself down long enough to talk to God. Instead of turning your thoughts and prayers to Him, you may rely upon your own resources. Instead of asking God for guidance, you may depend only upon your own limited wisdom. A far better course of action is this: simply stop what you’re doing long enough to open your heart to God, then listen carefully for His directions.

In all things great and small, seek God’s wisdom and His grace. He hears your prayers, and He will answer. All you must do is ask.

Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, I know that it is so important for me to spend time in Your Word and in prayer. Forgive me for allowing my busy schedule to get in the way of the most important things. Please help me make the time to listen to You so that I may learn and receive the guidance You desire to give me. I pray this in Jesus’ Name. Amen
