Chosen – Part 2

"...to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights of sons."
Galatians 4:5

People often have to make lifestyle adjustments to accommodate an unexpected pregnancy and raise an unplanned child, but nobody adopts by accident! Think: knowing in advance all your weaknesses, mistakes and struggles - God chose you anyway! Listen: "you are now fully adopted as His own, not a slave, but a child, an heir, with complete access" (Galatians 4:5-7). Do you realize the grace you walk under, You never have to wonder if it’s okay to approach your Father. He’s always ready to welcome you. He has a place reserved at His table just for you. The Psalmist said, "You serve me a six-course dinner right in front of my enemies" (Psalm 23: 5). When you’re chosen it’s like having a gold or platinum card - you get preferential treatment. However that doesn’t give you license to live however you want. Too many of us are like the kid who prayed, ‘Lord, make me a good boy but if you can’t, don’t worry, I’m having a great time just like I am!’ Remember, "The Lord disciplines those He loves"(Hebrews 12:6). God didn’t choose you based on your virtues and gifts, or because you were talented, good-looking and intelligent. No, He chose you because He loves you and has a special plan for your life. (see Jeremiah 29:11). The best part is - He’s going to strengthen and equip you to fulfill it. Listen: "absolutely everything, finds its purpose in Him" (Colossians 1:16). So, do you believe God chose you? Then start acting like it!

Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you for choosing me, as unworthy as I am. Help me to serve you as one chosen for something special that you have planned for me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
