Falling Apart?
Were you angry with the rivers, O LORD? Was your wrath against the streams? Did you rage against the sea when you rode with your horses and your victorious chariots?
Habakkuk 3:8
Does it feel like everything in your life is falling apart? Your investments are dropping, the career you worked so hard to establish is floundering, your health is under attack, the people you trusted have let you down. Nobody enjoys these times, but they do have a way of making us re-examine our priorities. When the things Habakkuk valued started to disintegrate, he was forced to distinguish between what was important and what was temporal. It's a re-evaluation we're all forced to make at some point. Here's what Habakkuk said, "Though the fig tree does not bud, there are no grapes on the vines, the olive crop fails, the fields produce no food, there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord - The Sovereign Lord is my strength, He enables me to go on" (Habakkuk 3:17-19). What an attitude! Habakkuk recognized he had absolutely no control over certain things. So, he chose to control his response by rejoicing in the Lord regardless of what happened and draw from God the strength needed to get through it. And you can too! You can determine to praise God regardless of the hand life deals you. He doesn't promise to take you out of the situation, just to bring you through it. So begin to praise Him for His love and faithfulness, for your health, your family, the gift of salvation and all the other priceless things He's given you. Today, ask God to remind you of the reasons you have for rejoicing in Him.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, there are so many blessings you have given me and things that are priceless in my life, thank you – and give me strength to face the rest that this world throws at me knowing my eternity is secure in you. In Your Precious Name, Amen

I loved this devo; especially the prayer!

God's timing is amazing: when Satan attacks us with fear, God defends us with His Grace!

God's Word is always so timely. What a comfort that is. He knows our needs before we do. What an awsome God we have!
