What Are You Thinking?

“The purposes of a man's heart are deep waters, but a man of understanding draws them out.”
Proverbs 20:5

How will you direct your thoughts today? Will you dwell upon those things that are admirable, true and pure (Philippians 4:8)? Or will you allow your thoughts to be hijacked by the negativity that seems to dominate our troubled world?

God intends that you be an ambassador for Him, an enthusiastic, hope-filled follower of Jesus Christ. But God won’t force you to adopt a positive attitude. It’s up to you to think positively about your blessings and opportunities…or not. So, today, celebrate this life that God has blessed you with by focusing your thoughts and your energies upon things that are “excellent or praiseworthy.” Count your blessings instead of your hardships and thank the Giver of all things good for gifts that are simply too numerous to count.

Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, Keep my thoughts focused on Your love, Your power, Your promises, and Your Son. When I am worried, help me to turn to You for comfort; when I am weak, empower me to turn to You for strength; when I am troubled, guide me to seek You for patience and perspective. I pray this in Jesus’ Name. Amen
