How God Provides – Part 6

Only do not rebel against the LORD. And do not be afraid of the people of the land, because we will swallow them up. Their protection is gone, but the LORD is with us. Do not be afraid of them."
Numbers 14:9

Modern Israel is still fighting over the place God gave them four thousand years ago - a place of provision, of covenant blessings, of such influence that they stay on the front page of every newspaper. And what was a physical place in the Old Testament is now a spiritual place where every redeemed child of God has been called to dwell. But it’s still a fight! "The devil isn’t bothering me," you say. Maybe that’s because you’re no threat to him! The moment you get serious about God, you’re in for a fight! Did you think the devil was going to send you a congratulatory message? No, listen: "As servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: in great endurance; in troubles, hardships and distresses; in beatings, imprisonments and riots; in hard work, sleepless nights and hunger; in purity, understanding, patience and kindness; in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love; in truthful speech and in the power of God; with weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left; through glory and dishonor, bad report and good report; genuine, yet regarded as imposters; known, yet regarded as unknown; dying and yet we live on; beaten and yet not killed; sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything" (2 Corinthians 6:4-10). Go back and re-read those words several times. Why? Because they’re basic requirements for every citizen who wants to enjoy the benefits of God’s kingdom.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, help me “Fight the Good Fight”! Give me discernment to stay out of “Bad Fights”. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
