In God We Trust
"Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done."
Luke 22:42
All of us experience difficulty, disappointments, and hardships. Sometimes we bring these hardships upon ourselves, and sometimes we are victimized by circumstances that we cannot control and cannot fully understand.
When Jesus went to the Mount of Olives, as described in Luke 22, He poured out His heart to God. Jesus knew of the agony that He was destined to endure, but He also knew that God's will must be done. We, like our Savior, face trails that bring fear and trembling to the very depths of our souls, but like Christ, we, too, must seek God's will, not our own.
Have you been touched by a personal tragedy that you cannot understand? If so, it's time to accept the unchangeable past… and it's time to trust God completely. When you do, you'll reclaim the peace - His peace- that can and is to be yours through of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, there are many things in my life that I don't understand. At times I'm confused, scared and frustrated. Help me to look to You and not at my problems, my issues and my failings. Through You Holy Spirit empower me to trust in You and seek Your will in all I do. May I focus upon You to guide me, strengthen me and give a peace that surpasses all understanding. I pray this in Jesus' Name. Amen
