Post-Dated!
"Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give to them - to the Israelites.
Joshua 1:2
Joshua had already tasted the joys of the Promised Land, but now he had to go back and wait. Why? Because his assignment was post-dated. Certain things had to happen first: 1) Moses had to die! Moses represented the old system. It was good for then, but not for now! When you align yourself with what was, instead of what is, you're not ready yet. You're still looking for approval. There are still too many folks you need to impress. You're so tied up with systems and philosophies that, when God says it's time to move, you have to consult somebody else. In order to reach your destiny, God will give you new instructions, new insights and a new plan for your life. The interesting thing is that the children of Israel mourned Moses' passing, yet they didn't see him die. They had to 'reckon' him dead before they could move forward. Are you getting the idea? 2) Every doubter had to be buried. There were lots of voices around Joshua telling him it couldn't be done, and he had to wait until every one of them died in the wilderness. And every voice of doubt that's holding you back has got to die and be buried too; including the voice of your low self-esteem, your childhood fears, your anxieties, yes, even your critics! Gather them up and put them in a box, bury it, stand on top of it and say, 'Ashes to ashes and dust to dust!' Only when you've taken those two steps are you ready to enter your Promised Land. Think about it!
Prayer
Heavenly Father, help me take the past and "put it to rest" so that I can move into the land and area you have called me to. In Jesus' Name, Amen
