Time With God
Ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For every one who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
Matthew 7:7-8
God is trying to get His message through ... to you! Are you listening? Perhaps, on occasion, you may find yourself overwhelmed by the press of everyday life. Perhaps you may forget to slow yourself down long enough to talk with God. Instead of turning your thoughts and prayer to Him, you may rely upon your own resources. Instead of asking God for guidance, you may depend only upon your own limited wisdom. A far better course of action is this: simply stop what you’re doing long enough to open your heart to God; then listen carefully for His directions.
Jesus made it clear to His disciples; they should petition God to meet their needs. So should we. A genuine, heartfelt prayer produces powerful changes in us and in our world. When we lift our hearts to God, we open ourselves to a never-ending source of divine wisdom and infinite love.
Are you in need? Ask God to sustain you. Are you troubled? Take your worries to Him in prayer. Are you weary? Seek God’s strength. In all things great and small, seek God’s wisdom and His grace. He hears your prayers, and He will answer. All you do is ask.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, today I lift my hopes and my dreams, my worries and my fears to You. Empower me by your Holy Spirit to be a worthy example to family and friends, showing them the importance and the power of prayer. Help me to take everything to You in prayer and when I do, help me to trust in Your answers. I pray this in Jesus’ Name. Amen
