Have An Attitude Of Gratitude!

Fear the LORD, you his saints, for those who fear him lack nothing.
Psalms 34:9

Four-year-old Martha hugged a doll in each of her little arms. Looking up at her mother she asked, "Mum, how come I keep loving them but they never love me back"? When we go out of our way to do something nice for someone, it’s disheartening not to get back a response. On the other hand, when they respond with delight and appreciation, it justifies our efforts and makes us want to do even more for them. Jesus promised, "the Father will give you whatever you ask in My Name" (John 15:16). But like any giver, God looks for an attitude of gratitude. King David knew he wasn’t worth two-cents without God. He struggled with all kinds of moral and family issues. But he had one thing going for him: he never stopped praising God. He said, "I bless God every chance I get." Then he added, "Worship God if you want the best; worship opens doors to all His goodness" (Psalm 34:1&9 TM). Note: It’s our praises, not our petitions, that open the doors to God’s goodness! God likes to get thanked before He gets involved. David knew he’d still be shoveling sheep dung and sleeping under the stars had God not brought him to the palace and blessed him beyond anything he deserved or imagined. That’s why he never stopped praising God! So, don’t take your blessings for granted. When you drink from the stream, remember the source - and be grateful!

Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you for all that you do for me and give me and provide for me. Your love continues every day. Thank you. In Your Precious Name, Amen
