TAKING ANOTHER LOOK AT JESUS – PT 3

To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps. 1 Peter 2:21

Jesus overcame His past. His mother was pregnant with Him before she married Joseph. Explanation? ‘‘that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost’ (Matthew 1:20). Try telling that to your friends! Only two people knew the truth - God and Mary. Undoubtedly many criticized Joseph for marrying her. Jesus grew up with this, yet there’s no mention of Him feeling the need to explain His background. Why? ‘Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He was come from God and went to God, took a towel, and girded Himself’ (John 13:3-4). Your identity comes from God - not people! Stop talking about your limited education, complaining that everyone in your family is poor, or repeating stories of those who’ve failed you. Stop pointing your finger at the economy, or advertising your pain, or meditating on your flaws. All of us are challenged in some way: physically, emotionally, mentally, or spiritually. We each have some sort of disability! God says, ‘Remember not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert’ (Isaiah 43:18-19). Satan discusses your yesterdays. That appears to be the only information he has about you. Jesus discusses your tomorrows. He enters your life to end your past and give birth to your future. So stop taking journeys into yesterday. Concentrate on what’s ahead of you, not behind. Jesus did!

Prayer
Heavenly Father – help me keep my eyes fixed on the path you are having me walk down and not be distracted by the past that you have already taken care of!! Thank you for “New Beginnings”! In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen

I almost feel bad telling you how great this one was but the truth is, it just hit Home! Know that your work touches lives Tim and that you make a difference. I am disabled and sometimes make the mistake of living in the past. That being said, you can imagine how fitting your text was today.....Blessings
