TAKING ANOTHER LOOK AT JESUS - PT 1
To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps. 1 Peter 2:21
You say you want to be more like Jesus in your daily living? Okay, let’s look at how He lived: He was never in a hurry. Jesus never made decisions in response to the pressure tactics of others. Why? Because skilled negotiators know that waiting is a weapon; whoever’s the most hurried usually ends up on the short end of the stick. Waiting reveals the weakness in any plan - plus the motives of those around you. Your greatest mistakes will usually happen because of impatience. Think long term. Jesus said: “By standing firm you will gain life” (Luke 21:19). He took time to rest! Listen: "Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest." (Mark 6:31). Nobody was busier than Jesus. Everybody wanted something from Him. The more successful you are the more people will reach for you. Jesus separated Himself in order to receive. He knew you can’t give what you don’t have. Work-time is giving; rest-time is receiving. Jesus understood the balance, that’s why He accomplished so much in just 3½ years. When you’re rested you: (a) think more clearly (b) make better decisions (c) see life through confident eyes (d) accomplish more in less time. One American President refused to make any major decisions after 4pm. He knew a tired mind rarely makes good decisions, and one bad move can create years of heartache. Stop your frantic push for success. Take time to taste the present. The fires of desire will always rage within you. Learn to dominate that rage and focus it. Learn to rest - Jesus did!
Prayer
Heavenly Father, help me to rest more and be patient in making decisions – always praying and waiting for your wisdom to guide me. In Your Precious Name, Amen

Hi Tim,
One of the first recommendations for those of us struggling to lose weight, is to make sure we get plenty of rest at night! In fact, some specialists in that field, put that as #1. Just an FYI I thought you might like to know.
Hope this finds you doing well and enjoying the summer with your family!
Fondly,
Kath
