ARE YOU TOO ‘IMPORTANT’ FOR A MIRACLE?

He replied, "It is not right to take the children's bread and toss it to their dogs."
Matthew 15:26

Desperation puts us in situations where we’ve got nothing to lose. When our pain level gets high enough, we’ll do whatever it takes to find relief. Jesus told a Canaanite woman who asked Him to heal her daughter, ‘It’s not right to take bread and throw it to dogs.’ Now she could have flown into a rage and said, ‘Who are you calling a dog!’ But no, she replied, ‘‘Master’[even] beggar dogs do get scraps from the master’s table’ (Matthew 15:27). As a result, the girl was healed. Why? Because the mother humbled herself and refused to be offended. Are you willing to do that? Because Naaman was an important leader, his pride almost cost him his life. First: he got angry because Elisha sent his servant, instead of coming out to talk with him personally. Second: when the prophet instructed him on how to be made clean he, ‘‘went away in a rage’ (2 Kings 5:12). Can’t you hear him? ‘Huh, I don’t take orders from anybody.’ Self-importance will rob you of what God has for you. It’ll circumvent your blessing and ruin your effectiveness. Don’t let your pride rob you of the prize! When you’re in the battle, stay low and keep your head down; holding it up when you’re in the crossfire can cost you your life. The Bible says, ‘Humble yourselves’ [this is something you must do for yourself] under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you’’ (1 Peter 5:6). Let God do the exalting; don’t try to do it yourself!

Prayer
Heavenly Father, keep me at your feet, always relying on you for all things. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Just want you to know how much I look forward to your devotions each day and how grateful I am for them.
Maybe this is one of those days when you wonder if you are appreciated. You are.
My husband and I have devotions from Portals every morning that also provide fuel for the day but I also gain so much through your devotions.May our precious Savior always hold you close.
