KEEP DIPPING!

So he went down and dipped himself in the Jordan seven times, as the man of God had told him, and his flesh was restored and became clean like that of a young boy.
2 Kings 5:14

When Naaman left Elisha’s house, he was angry because he’d been told to dip in the muddy Jordan River in order to receive his healing. But Naaman’s servant said, ‘If the prophet had told you to do something great, you’d have done it in a heartbeat. You came prepared to empty your bank account, to do whatever it took. Now all you have to do is dip seven times in the River Jordan. Wouldn’t it be worth it to come up clean?’ Today God’s asking you the same question. Wouldn’t it be worth humbling yourself to come up clean? To confess your sin, share your story and ask for help? Wouldn’t it be worth risking the disapproval of those who don’t really matter because they’re not part of God’s plan for your life anyway? Isn’t it worth suffering in order to reign with Jesus? (See 2 Timothy 2:12). Don’t let your reputation get in the way of your healing. The enemy’s been trying to entice you to the wrong rivers, but now you’re where God wants you. All you need is the kind of faith that involves looking foolish for a while; faith that keeps you dependent on God when it looks as if everybody else is doing better than you. ‘Keep dipping’, though you’ve been insulted, though your feelings are hurt, though you’ve reached the end of your rope and you want to quit. Don’t give up now! Stand on the promises God has given you. Miracles are for the persistent, not the wishful. ‘Blessed is the man who perseveres, he will receive’’ (James 1:12).

Prayer
Heavenly Father, help me always do what is right in your eyes even when others tell me differently. Lord grant me strength in all things, in Jesus’ Name, Amen
