GET BUSY!

"Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men."
Mark 1:17

If you want something done, ask a busy person! Jesus never called anybody who wasn’t busy. Listen: ‘Jesus called’ ‘Come’’ And they left their nets’ and went with Him.’ God will take you from one job and put you to work on another. He’ll get into your business and say, ‘John, I’m taking your boat and cancelling your fishing license.’ Or, ‘I know you’ve been busy collecting taxes Matthew, but I’m getting ready to change your assignment.’ Not once did Jesus call somebody who was lazy or sitting on the sidelines waiting for ‘the nod’. Abraham Lincoln said he could get lots of people willing to shed their last drop of blood; it was finding those willing to shed their first drop - that was his problem. That’s because some of us just want to sit around looking important, waiting for God to contact us personally. If that’s where you are today, you could be in for a long wait! Blessing follows work - just as surely as reaping follows sowing! Listen: The LORD will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to. (Deuteronomy 28:8). God blesses dreamers, not daydreamers! You’ve got to wake up and go to work! The moment God made Adam, He put him to work in the garden. Why? Because work and productivity are essential to self-esteem; they should be a source of joy to us. Listen: my chosen ones will long enjoy the works of their hands. (Isaiah 65:22). Discern where you belong. Get busy. Then, when something needs to be done, God will know where to find you!

Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you for giving me the abilities to do things to work in helping others. Help me never to grow weary. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Tim, This is right on the mark! Just this week my husband starting talking about retiring. I am unable to find anything in the Bible about retiring. As my Grandma Gruber used to say, "No rest for the wicked and the righteous don’t need it!" Kathy
