IT FLOWS DOWN

It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Aaron's beard, down upon the collar of his robes.
Psalms 133:2

The anointing oil that was poured over Aaron’s head ran all the way down to the border of his robe. Here’s a timeless principle: blessing flows down, not up! It doesn’t matter if those under you think you’re wonderful unless those above you agree. Until you understand that, you’ll be susceptible to those who, for their own reasons, want to fling the oil up on to you by telling you how wonderful you are and how you should be running the show. The truth is that you’re not great until God endorses you. Listen: ‘this is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased, hear him!’ (Matthew 17:5). The bible says ‘a man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men’ (Proverbs 18:16). If you want to do great things for God, hang out with great people; not turf-guarders who are easily threatened, but servant-leaders who are secure in their own identity. They’re the ones who’ll inspire you, support you, correct you, and help you to grow. Even though you feel unqualified and out-of-place at times, if you aspire to greatness for God, you’ve got to learn the protocol that goes with the position. That means spending time in preparation. Stay hungry! Jesus said, ‘‘those who hunger and thirst shall be filled’ (Matthew 5:6). Does that describe you? It should, for when you’re already ‘filled’, what can God ‘add’ to you? So long as you remain hungry for more, God will continue to pour out his blessing upon your life. That’s a guarantee!

Prayer
Heavenly Father, help me never be content to be what I currently am, but always willing to allow you to continue to fill me up and make me better. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen
