When God comes!

"See, I will send my messenger, who will prepare the way before me. Then suddenly the Lord you are seeking will come to his temple; the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, will come," says the LORD Almighty. Malachi 3:1

Ever woken up with a sense of dread because of something you had to face that day? Yet by bedtime everything was alright because God suddenly showed up? What’s sudden to us isn’t sudden to God. That’s because He works according to His schedule, not ours. It was history’s greatest prison break: ‘After they had been severely flogged, about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns, the other prisoners were listening. Suddenly all the prison doors flew open, and everybody’s chains came loose’ (Acts 16:23-26). Notice two things: (1) Paul and Silas did their part - they kept praying and praising (2) God did His part - He showed up on time! The result? The prison warden asked, ‘What must I do to be saved’? When Moses wanted to see God’s glory, God said: ‘I will make all My goodness pass before you, But you cannot see My face. I will put you in a cleft of the rock, and cover you with My hand. Then I will take away My hand, and you shall see My back.’ (Exodus 33:19-23 Amp). Did you notice what happens when you hide in the cleft of the rock? God comes, and even though you can’t see His face, you feel His presence, you experience His goodness, and suddenly everything’s alright! ‘So what should I do?’ you ask. (a) Keep praying and praising (b) Remember, somebody’s watching who needs what you’ve got; don’t fail them (c) Though you may not be able to see God in the situation, you can enjoy His goodness (d) The ‘how’ and ‘when’ of your deliverance is up to God - just be ready, for He comes suddenly!

Prayer
Heavenly Father, help me trust you today in all that you place in front of me knowing that you have your plan for me all worked out. Help me see you and your hand in leading and directing. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
