Be Yourself! We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man's gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. Romans 12:6
When you try to be somebody other than who you are, the best you can ever be is number two. Be yourself; after all, who’s more qualified? Don’t follow the crowd; be the engine and not the caboose! Do you instinctively react to new situations by worrying about what might happen if others knew the real you? Afraid they’d reject you? Get angry? Leave? The Bible says, God has given each of us the ability to do certain things well. It’s your job to recognize and develop the gifts God’s placed within you. That can be intimidating, especially if you’ve spent your life looking for approval from people who’ve none to give. Be careful; your unmet needs can allow others to control you and prevent you from becoming what God meant you to be. ‘What’s that?’ you ask. Listen: Now you are ‘God’s own child’ everything He has belongs to you’ (Galatians 4:7). ‘For He raised us with Christ, we are seated with Him in the heavenly realms’ (Ephesians 2:6). ‘‘you are chosen, His own special people’’ (1 Peter 2:9). ‘‘we are the children of God joint-heirs with Christ” (Romans 8:16-17). With those credentials, why would you want to be anybody else? Paul writes, ‘Don’t let the world squeeze you into its own mold’’ (Romans 12:2). Stop making your life an ongoing struggle to be someone you were never meant to be. God made you who you are. If He’s satisfied - shouldn’t you be too?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you for making me, me! Continue to shape and mold me to be all you made me to be! In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Feb. 5, 2009 . Once again a devotion that I needed. As I read the end--God made you who you are. If He's satisfied, shouldn't you be too. I laughed and looked up and told him Thank You. I had been 'fretting' about something that I am going to do tomorrow. Tranetta
