Fear - And Fulfilling Your Destiny

When I am afraid, I put my trust in You. Psalm 56:3

Are you punching the clock on a job you despise or have no real passion for? Are you afraid of trying something new in case you fail, look foolish or can't make a living? Hey, have you factored God into the equation? The Psalmist said, "When I am afraid I put my trust in You."

Or maybe you're afraid of success, because then the pressures increase as others expect more, and the higher you climb the further you fall. Before some folks make any move they want an ironclad guarantee that everything will go according to plan. So they stay where they are - and stagnate! They're the ones who never go anywhere without a parachute, a raincoat, a hot-water bottle and a thermometer!

Growth involves risk; risk involves fear - and fear distorts your view of God. It tells you you're not in safe hands; that He's not big enough to take care of you. How will you ever know, unless you walk through your fears and discover what God has for you on the other side of them?

At the end of the day all our 'what ifs,' turn into 'what might have beens.' When you give in to fear you end up in a comfortable chair in front of your television wondering, "What could I have accomplished, if only I'd trusted God more?" The Psalmist has the answer; listen: "When I am afraid I put my trust in You." So get moving! Don't let fear rob you of your destiny - that's too high a price to pay!

Prayer
Heavenly Father, help me to risk more and trust you more and fear less knowing that you are with me.  In Jesus’ name, Amen
