The Roman RoadFor the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23
Where are you on your pilgrimage through life? Do you feel lost? Don't despair, the voice of God is calling you, drawing you to a higher realm; to the life you've always dreamed of. 'Where do I start?' you ask. 'How do I get to Jesus?' Take the Roman Road (found in the Book of Romans). Step 1: '...we've compiled this long and sorry record as sinners...and proved that we are utterly incapable of living the glorious lives God wills for us...' (Romans 3:23 TM). Face it - we're all sinners to the core, desperately in need of a Savior. Step 2: 'Work hard for sin your whole life and your pension is death. But God's gift is real life, eternal life, delivered by Jesus...' (Romans 6:23 TM). Great news - your sins (all of them) have already been paid for. Step 3: 'God put His love on the line for us by offering His Son in sacrificial death while we were of no use whatever to Him' (Romans 5:8 TM). You can't earn it or deserve it, but He loves you anyway. Step 4: 'You're not 'doing' anything; you're simply calling out to God, trusting Him to do it for you. That's salvation...say it, right out loud: 'God has set everything right between Him and me!' (Romans 10:9-10 TM).
Prayer
Heavenly Father, fill me with your Spirit by the Power of your Word and through the Waters of Baptism. Help me surrender myself, my sin, and my failings, at your feet. Thank you for your forgiveness and your making me new again. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
