Promises For Troubled Times - Part 1

"Praise be to the LORD, who has given rest to his people Israel just as he promised. Not one word has failed of all the good promises he gave through his servant Moses.
 1 Kings 8:56

Scripture contains many of the Promises of God’s for each of us, especially in times that are uncertain.  I will be choosing some of these promises in this 4 week series.  I pray that at least one of them will speak to you today.  Beginning with the Word of God:
  1. 'Do not be afraid of sudden terror, nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes; for the Lord will be your confidence?' (Proverbs 3:25-26)
  2. 'Those who know Your name will trust in You, for You, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek You' (Psalm 9:10)
  3. The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life, of whom shall I be afraid? For in the day of trouble He will keep me safe.' (Psalm 27:1&5)
  4. 'The Lord foils the plans of the nations; He thwarts the purposes of the peoples. But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of His heart through all generations' (Psalm 33:10-11)
  5. 'I have told you these things so that in Me you may have perfect peace, In the world you have trials and distress, but be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world - I have deprived it of power to harm [you]' (John 16:33)
  6. 'fear not and do not tremble, because of them. For the Lord your God is He Who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you' (Deuteronomy 20:3-4)
  7. 'I will lie down and sleep in peace, for You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety' (Ps 4:8).
Prayer
Heavenly Father, in troubled times your Word gives me hope, gives me assurance, and gives me comfort.  In your precious name, Amen
