MARKED FOR HIMAnd you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, Ephesians 1:13
A seal is a mark of identification. That's why you stand out in a crowd; you carry your Father's mark of distinction. Listen: 'Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are His' (2 Ti 2:19). God's seal on your life certifies that you belong to Him. It means He goes before you to smooth out the rough places, line up the right connections, and arrange things in your favor. But you say, 'My life is such a mess at the moment!' Listen, 'Now are we the sons of God, and it does not yet appear what we shall be...' (1 Jn 3:2). Ever been on a building site? It looks like anything but a building, doesn't it? That's because 'It does not yet appear' what it shall be. But bit by bit under the architect's supervision, blocks, beams, wood and piles of sand begin coming together. Sometimes years pass before there's even a hint that the building's going up, yet it is. You may be a mess right now. Indeed if the church is doing its job, there should be lots of messy people in it; people being pulled from situations; people in the process of being restored. No baby comes out of the womb clean and dressed up. Spiritual rebirthing is messy too! But the good news is, you have been spiritually reborn! You are under construction! There is a plan and a purpose behind all that is going on in your life. Things are coming together. Be encouraged!

Heavenly Father, Because of my Baptism in you I am a work in progress. Give me patience as you shape and mold me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
