GOD'S IDEAL

For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.  Genesis 2:24

In his book, The Great Investment, T.D. Jakes writes, 'We wait for 'Mr. Right' or 'Ms. Outta Sight.' We wait and we wait, then we begin to doubt that there's anyone out there for us. So we decide to have a little fun with 'Mr. Okay-For-Now,' and end up hurt and confused. Next we spend time with 'Ms. Too-Good-To-Be-True,' discover that she is, and leave with a broken heart and an empty wallet. 'Mr. Almost' and 'Ms. Pretty-Close' come along, but the more we get to know them, the further from our ideal they seem. 'Life is like a puzzle: amid these oddly shaped pieces there are two that fit each other. They don't fit because they're perfect; they just fit because they're perfect for each other. Apart, they are two pieces without definition; together they complement each other and take on meaning. 'This is the joy of marriage; not the celebration of legal sex but the coming together of two damaged souls lost on a sea of reality, who, when they find each other, become mutual lifejackets, keeping each other afloat. I can see them now, looking like small bubbles in the midst of a raging sea. They hold on to each other, two lovers, a mother and a father, making love and making babies, and making each other feel complete. Together, they are God's ideal!' Today, thank God for your spouse!

Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you for your hand of uniting that can take two imperfects and unite them into one whole.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen
