STORMS… Immediately he spoke to them and said, "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid." Mark 6:50
Do you feel as if you're in a storm today? Like maybe you're not going to make it? If so, read these words: When evening came, the boat was in the middle of the lake, and he was alone on land. He saw the disciples straining at the oars, because the wind was against them. About the fourth watch of the night he went out to them, walking on the lake. He was about to pass by them, but when they saw him walking on the lake, they thought he was a ghost. They cried out, because they all saw him and were terrified. Immediately he spoke to them and said, "Take courage! It is I. don't be afraid." Then he climbed into the boat with them, and the wind died down. They were completely amazed. (Mark 6:47-51).
So what are the lessons here for you?
- When educators teach us they do it with charts and whiteboards. When Jesus teaches us He uses storms and adversities. It's during those times when we feel so separated from Him that He's actually teaching us the most.
- He doesn't show up early. Usually, He comes in the worst part of the storm; just in the nick of time - when you think you can't take any more.
- He takes you through different storms, revealing Himself to you in each one. Otherwise, there are divine strategies and aspects of His character you'd never truly understand.
- His presence alone should be enough for you in any storm. The moment He shows up and says, "It is I," should calm your every fear.
Be of good courage! The same Jesus who came to His disciples that night is with you now. Because of that, you'll make it safely through! That's a guarantee!
Prayer
Heavenly Father, in the storms that occur in our lives, help me to see that I am never alone, you are there for me! Thank you Jesus! Amen
