MORE ON INTEGRITYVindicate me, O LORD, for I have led a blameless life; I have trusted in the LORD without wavering. Psalm 26:1
All of us know people who are not the same on the inside as they are on the outside. Indeed, many who work harder on their image than on their integrity don't understand when they suddenly 'fall.' Even friends who thought they knew them are surprised. In ancient China, the people wanted security against the barbaric hordes from the north, so they built The Great Wall. It was so high nobody could climb over it and so thick nobody could break it down, so they settled back to enjoy their security. During the first 100 years of the wall's existence, China was invaded three times. Not once did the enemy break down the wall or climb over it. Each time they bribed the gatekeeper and marched right through without a problem. The Chinese were so busy relying on their wall of stone that they neglected to teach integrity to their children.
Your answers to the following questions will determine if you are into image-building or integrity-building.
- Are you the same no matter whom you're with?
- Do you make decisions that are best for others, when another choice would benefit you more?
- Are you quick to recognize others for their efforts and contributions to your success?
Life is like a vise; at times it'll squeeze you. In those moments, whatever is inside will come out. Image promises much and produces little, but integrity never disappoints. So commit yourself today to be a person of integrity.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, in days when I am squeezed and my true colors come out – forgive me – change me – and fill me with your character! In Jesus' name, Amen
Heavenly Father, in days when I am squeezed and my true colors come out – forgive me – change me – and fill me with your character! In Jesus' name, Amen

The word for large crowds of people is NOT hoards but hordes
The mechanism that puts you or something into a squeeze is a vise. Vice is a wrongdoing or a sin.
Oh, well, you got the message across very well, Tim.
Keep up your good work................

Good Afternoon Tim:
Again...much thanks for today devotional. I have to make a decision today concerning staying with my present job or transferring. In today's business world (well at least in Michigan's struggling economy), I've started to develop a "look out for me attitude"...imagine...and feared that I had started to lose my integrity in the "dog-eat-dog" business world. I have been praying that, with God's help, that I would make the right decision. This devotion was a God-sent needed message that spoke to my heart.
Blessing,
Jeannine
