Integrity

The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.  Proverbs 11:3

A young Jewish boy grew up in Germany years ago. He had a great admiration for his father, who made sure that the life of the family revolved around their religion. Every week he took them faithfully to the synagogue. In the boy's teen years, the family was forced to move to another town with no synagogue, only a Lutheran church. All the best people belonged to it. Suddenly, his father announced they were all going to become Lutherans, saying it would be 'good for business'. Bewildered and angry, the boy later left Germany and went to England to study. Each day found him at the British Museum, formulating his ideas and composing a book. In that book, he introduced a new-world view and conceived a movement that was destined to bring unspeakable misery to the lives of countless millions. His ideas became the 'norm' for the governments of almost half the world. His name? Karl Marx. History was forever altered by a father who sold out principle for profit, and conviction for convenience. Your integrity, or the lack of it, always has consequences! People with integrity have nothing to fear. Their lives are open books. They've established a system of values against which all of life is judged. No matter how spiritual you are, you'll struggle daily with situations which demand that you choose between what you want to do and what you ought to do. Integrity will help you to make the right choice every time.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, may I always stay true to Your Word and the path your Word would have me walk.  May I never sell out what is right for what is convenient.  In Jesus' Name, Amen
